Orchestra: Dependency Graph for Jira
Turn any JQL query into a dependency graph. Read only.
Jira knows which work items block which, but only shows it as a list on each item. Orchestra draws the shape: any JQL query becomes a graph, with issue links as solid edges and parent and child structure as dashed.
Getting started
- Open Apps › Orchestra: Dependencies.
- Choose a preset, or type any JQL query.
- Select Draw graph.
Queries and presets
Presets cover open items in a project, everything in an epic, and your own open work. Any JQL you can write in Jira works here, so the scope of the graph is exactly what you ask for.
Reading the graph
Solid edges are issue links, labelled with the link type. Dashed edges are parent and child structure. A small colored square marks the work type using Jira's familiar colors, and the left bar shows status, so the two color systems never compete. The legend below the canvas repeats this.
Moving around
The graph fits itself to the canvas when drawn. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom, use the plus and minus controls, or select Reset to fit the whole graph again. Selecting a card opens that work item.
The work item panel
Every work item has a Orchestra panel showing the same graph scoped to that item: what it blocks and what blocks it, without leaving the page.
Administrator settings
Site administrators can set an accent color used for the graph controls and buttons.
Permissions and data
Orchestra requests read access to Jira work and app storage, and nothing else. It cannot create, edit or link work items. Graph contents are built on request and are not stored. The app declares zero external network egress.
